Frequently Asked Questions

What types of Classes do you offer the Studio?

At Nurture Studio Huntly, we offer a unique blend of Qi Gong, Pilates, and Yoga, all designed to help you feel stronger, calmer, more flexible, and deeply connected to your body and mind. We know that starting something new can feel a little intimidating — so here are some answers to common questions to help you feel at home before your first class:

How do I know which class is right for me?

Each practice offers something different:

Yoga helps you stretch, strengthen, and slow down.

Pilates focuses on core strength, stability, and posture.

Qi Gong is gentle and meditative, using flowing movements to promote energy flow and relaxation.
You’re welcome to try them all — your first class is free so you can explore what feels best!

I haven’t done this type of mindful movement in years (or ever). Can I still join?

Absolutely. Many of our clients are beginners or returning after a long break. Our sessions are designed to be accessible, supportive, and gentle — no flexibility or prior experience required.

I’m not very flexible — is that a problem?

Not at all. Flexibility is not a requirement or a goal here. We focus on how things feel, not how they look. All bodies are welcome — we’ll support you in working with yours just as it is.

What kind of yoga do you teach?

Our classes weave together mindful movement, restorative and functional yoga, breathwork, and grounding practices. It’s not fast-paced or high-impact — it’s slow, intentional, and deeply nourishing.

What should I bring or wear to class?

Wear something comfortable you can move in — no fancy gear needed. Bring a water bottle, all other gear is provided.

I’m not spiritual — will this still feel like a fit?

Absolutely. Our classes are grounded, body-focused, and welcoming to all. Reiki is sometimes offered as gentle, optional support — but only if it feels right for you. If it’s not your thing, you can simply opt out. You’ll always be met with respect and care, just as you are.

Is this a workout or more of a wellness practice?

It’s a body-led wellness practice. While you’ll build gentle strength and mobility, our focus is on presence, functional movement, and creating a calm, safe space to reconnect with yourself.

I’m going through big life changes — will this help?

Yes. This space is designed for women navigating transitions — whether emotional, physical, or life-stage related. Our offerings help you find steadiness, clarity, and a sense of home in your own body.

What if I’m dealing with fatigue, stress, or anxiety?

You’re in the right place. Everything we offer is centred around nervous system support and helping you feel grounded, rested, and calm. We move gently and intentionally, never pushing the body past what it’s asking for.

Can I come if I have injuries or chronic conditions?

Yes — and please let us know beforehand. We offer modifications and encourage you to always listen to your body. Many women come to us with injuries, fatigue, or chronic pain — and finally find a way to move that feels safe and empowering.

How many people are in a class?

We intentionally keep our classes small and cosy — with a maximum of 12 people per class. This allows us to create a warm, welcoming environment where you won’t feel lost in the crowd.

Smaller group sizes mean you get plenty of personal attention and support from your teacher, ensuring you feel safe and comfortable, especially if you’re new or working with limitations. It also helps us maintain a peaceful, intimate atmosphere where everyone can relax and take their time.

By keeping class sizes small, we make sure there’s space for you to move freely, ask questions, and really get the most out of your experience.

How do I know if this is the right place for me?

If you're craving a softer, more grounded way to care for yourself — one that honours where you’re at and doesn’t ask you to “push through” — this is likely your space.
And to make it even easier: your first class is completely free. Come and try it — if it doesn't feel right for you, no pressure to come back. We want you to feel safe, seen, and supported.
